Scottsdale, Arizona, is basically divided up into four areas: North Scottsdale, South Scottsdale, Old Town Scottsdale, and the Shea Corridor.
North Scottsdale is the part of the city claiming some of the most expensive homes in Arizona. As the city expands east and west, the McDowell Mountain range is near it’s border. Because North Scottsdale had available land in which to build, and is home to Scottsdale Airpark (the second largest employment center in the Phoenix Metropolitan area), there has been residential boom in northern part of Scottsdale. North Scottsdale is the most actively developed are of Scottsdale. The McDowell Mountains and Pinnacle Peak can be seen on North Scottsdale landscape, and Scottsdale’s McDowell Sonoran Preserve has trails and outdoor activities.
